Ideologies
A rational person needs to trust the ideas that form the basis of their beliefs. You need to trust them. In the case of Unarmed Combat, consistent success depends on the ideas that a person absorbs, accepts and adopts. Placing trust in Ideas that are delusional in nature can (and often will) lead to catastrophic results.
CORE TO THINKING AND DOING
The beginning
There are a myriad of ideas. As it relates to the sphere of human activity, Ideas (or concepts) represent the beginning of all human occurrences. In a very real sense, ideas are the very things used to direct how we navigate and interpret the occurrences of a fight.
Types of ideas
Ideas in the White Lotus System are fundamentally categorized into two groupings: Ideas that are rooted in delusion, or ideas that are "reality based."
Sorting it out
The difference is simple but critical - ideas that are reality based can be both abstracted and actualized and ideas rooted in delusion can neither be abstracted nor actualized.
Ask yourself
Outwardly, this distinction may seem obvious. Stating that, it is suggested that you take a moment to ponder how you normally challenge yourself or anyone to prove that the idea being presented to you is "delusional." or "real."

THE IMPORTANCE OF IDEAS
The importance of reality based ideologies cannot be overstated. The ideas a person absorbs, accepts and adopts are the heart of success and failure - of surviving...or not.
For this reason, the system has an evolved learning mechanism that addresses the inherent resistance of the mind and simultaneously aids the mind in finding reality based rationalization for the adoption of any idea.
The goal is not to ask a practitioner to blindly take on new lines of thinking, but to gradually and respectfully help individuals establish beliefs that enable them to survive.
